Composition Instruction
Bravissimo offers students the rare opportunity to study Composition outside the college or conservatory setting. As a Bravissimo student, you will work one-on-one with a mentor who will provide you with insight and techniques to take your compositions to the next level.
Whether you write string quartets or electronic dance music, your instructor will help you express and refine that unique "you" sound. You can discuss the format of your lessons with your teacher; often lessons will combine "work-shopping" your own compositions with more technique-based or analytical assignments.
We recommend that you take at least three years of instrumental or voice lessons and be in junior high school or above before signing up for composition lessons.
A student can enroll in Theory lessons, Composition lessons, or Theory + Composition lessons (where each lesson will be split between the topics).
Music Theory and Composition can also be incorporated into your private instrumental and voice lessons; this is a wonderful way to enrich your musical studies if you are not yet ready for full Theory or Composition lessons.
