Employment Status
All Bravissimo tutors are independent contractors.

Ivy Bound
Bravissimo’s parent company is Ivy Bound Test Prep, located in New Britain, CT.

Billing
You will receive payment once a month after submitting an “expense report” through Ivy Bound’s online Contact Manager (CM).

Cancellation Notice
We request 24 hours’ notice from students for any lesson cancellation except in the case of emergency or sudden illness. Missed lessons may be made up during the final two weeks of the semester. If you will be unavailable during the semester, it is your responsibility to ensure that your students receive all the lessons they purchased.

Lesson Location
We offer lessons in the student’s home or the tutor’s home or studio. You may note your preference on your application. Some tutors rent studios and teach from there. If you agree to teach students in their homes, we will try to match you with students in your neighborhood. You may indicate if you are willing to travel, but we do not currently offer extra compensation for long travel times or reimbursement for transportation costs.

Number of Students
Bravissimo does not guarantee any minimum number of students or minimum number of lessons in any given pay period.

Professionalism
Our tutors are our primary and most important contact with our clients. Your conduct and appearance reflect both yourselves and Bravissimo as a whole. As a result, while we always want our tutors to feel comfortable, we ask that all tutors respect a few guidelines concerning dress and punctuality.

We ask that our tutors dress in a way that indicates our dedication and respect for both the job and for the student. Please wear fairly modest, clean, professional clothes that do not have any slogans or symbols that are potentially offensive. In addition, we ask that our tutors do not wear jeans or flip-flops.

Punctuality is one of the best ways for Bravissimo to present itself as a professional, serious organization. We owe it to our clients to arrive to lessons on time. Although occasional emergencies of traffic or weather may occur, these must be kept to a minimum by ensuring enough time for potential travel delays. In the event that you do find yourself late to a lesson, you must make up the time either at the end of that lesson or by adding it to a future lesson at the client’s convenience.

Because Bravissimo does not have a brick-and-mortar home base, reliable communication is essential to building and maintaining our client base. Therefore, it is crucial that tutors respond to their students’ messages within 24 hours. Naturally, the initial contacts with a client are particularly important in establishing a respectful, sustainable relationship. Thus, it is of paramount importance that tutors contact a new student within 24 hours of receiving the assignment from Bravissimo’s director, Brooke Collins.
